In this workshop\, participants will use fresh leaves and flowers to create one of a kind botanical pressed plates. \nNo experience is necessary\, just bring your creativity! Tools will be provided\, as well as clay and glazes for a small fee that will be paid directly to the instructor. Participants are requested to bring flowers\, leaves and and other plant cuttings. A limited selection of botanicals will be provided if participants are unable to collect their own. \nStudents will complete at least one plate\, which will be fired and ready for pickup two weeks after the workshop.

DESCRIPTION:You’ve heard the saying a “A picture is worth 1000 words”. We are flipping it around and creating a “picture” with1000 words. This workshop will combine visual imagery with written words to create a unique artistic expression. We will be using a variety of resources including books\, magazines\, personal handwriting and hand painted pages\, alongside images or other visual elements to arrange pieces made primarily focusing on the written word. We will continue to use various techniques of layering different types of paper material. His accolades include an Emmy\, the Peabody Award\, the Kennedy Foundation Award\, and the National Presidential Medal for Volunteer Service.
