DESCRIPTION:During this intensive\, informative\, and upbeat workshop\, you’ll explore your artistic voice and create cold wax and oil paintings that you are proud of! I’ll do several demos throughout the workshop\, and you’ll receive lots of personal instruction to help you work through your paintings\, get “out of your head\,” and move forward in new and exciting ways. All in an encouraging\, nurturing\, and fun environment! \nWe’ll explore multiple techniques\, including:\n– Creating an exciting underpainting with acrylic paints\n– Layering\n– Making multiple textures\n– Mark making\n– Mixing colors that create harmony\n– Stenciling\n– Drawing into and on top of cold wax\n– Glazing with cold wax\n– Masking\n– Creating patterns\n– Editing for clarity\n– Adding the final “jewelry” \nWe’ll also spend lots of time painting and evaluating your creations’ design\, composition\, and value. Be sure to bring your bike lock!\nDrive to a satellite lot and take the FREE SHUTTLE.  Park conveniently and free of charge at the Jefferson County Human Services building\, (900 Jefferson County Parkway\, Golden\, 80401) (MAP) and hop on the free\, dedicated shuttle right to the entrance of the event.  Shuttles run continuously for the duration of the event.\nRide the RTD W Line to the Jefferson County Government Center/Golden Station and hop on the free shuttle which will run continuously for the duration of the event.\n\nIf you have to drive\, there are public parking options walkable to the event: \nFREE PARKING OPTIONS \n\nClear Creek Lot –Space is limited\, and it fills up quickly.
