Using vintage and current images of the human face we will use juxtaposition to capture attention\, emphasis or effect. A variety of paper will be provided to paint or alter to add to the results.  \nIn the second class\, participants can create a more elaborate being using multiple images and venture into hair and neck adornments. \n \nCollage artist\, Erika Vassallo\, will lead participants through choice of materials\, composition\, color\, use of different adhesives and application techniques. Clay tools are provided on a first come\, first served basis\, and a personal set of basic clay tools can be purchased during class for $20 plus tax. \n \nOpen Studio takes place Saturdays from 9am-5pm each week that classes are active. DESCRIPTION:3D Collage Art is getting deep! \n \nWe are taking our collage practice upward and outward\, into the realm of mixed media. Using techniques layering different types of paper material and adding a variety of “artifacts” such as wood pieces\, tiles\, beading and game pieces\, we will build on an original collage base. Everything is provided\, all you need is your creative vision. New participants will be given a 5×7 art journal and resealable plastic envelope to encourage taking materials to continue working on their own. \n \nCollage artist\, Erika Vassallo\, will lead participants through choice of materials \,composition\, use of different adhesives and application techniques. DESCRIPTION:Modern Kintsugi \nFriday June 20 from 5 – 7:30 pm  \nat Golden City Brewery as part of our annual ARTSWEEK programming!  \n  \nKintsugi is a 400 year old Japanese art form of the mending of ceramics — creating beauty from brokenness. Kintsugi’s philosophy reflects Japanese culture and teaches us the importance of cherishing and caring for things in our mass consumption society\, and the beauty of brokenness/imperfection in things and ourselves. \n  \nIn this workshop we will guide a small group through a modern method of this ancient craft. You will see and feel the beauty you have created from the brokenness and reflect on your own life’s journey. All welcome and all materials needed for the experience will be provided. \n  \n*NOTE* Each participant will need something broken or chipped to mend.
